I'm making some shibori wraps for the market this week to be worn with large pins that i will acquire tomorrow. Also making up kits to sell along with instructions - many people wanted to know how to make scarves and wraps themselves.

Fitzroy, Brunswick Street

The Nunnery Fitzroy, where i stayed in Melbourne

The Nunnery's a backpackers on one side and a guesthouse on the other, both sides have there own kitchens and laundries, lounge room with open fire and a really good vibe PLUS it's a walk to Brunswick and Gertrude streets for the best restaurants and boutiques around, not unlike Paris.

The wonderful Patricia Black our workshop tutor

I've been to the Bendigo Wool Show

It was great, I saw the llamas, many types of sheep, some with long noble noses,
I watched the fashion parades, made lots of new friends and visited old ones.
I left laden down with fibre and silk, dye, pre-felted batts, felt from Europe
and photos of all of it, including a pic of the best eco dyed scarf I've ever seen
will post photos soon.

In Fitzroy now staying at an old Nunnery in Nicholson Street, quaint and charming
but best of all its only five minutes walk to my shibori workshop tomorrow. We had
dinner at a great Thai restaurant in Brunswick Street and now i'm off to do my homework
which is gathering corks from the bars. We can't buy corks (for shibori) for love or money and it's our job to get some tonight.

Happy Birthday Eileen and Jennifer, I know you read this,
why not follow me, you too Sophie and Gemma

Here is the close up of the red scarf

I made a red scarf today, great colour

Peter's mad about this scarf, I made it out of red fibre, put round objects under the felt for texture, added some ribbons of silk georgette and lots of silk strands for a luxurious touch, it turned out well, I'm very pleased with it, here is a photo of me in it and then some close ups which are interesting.

Great new technique

pieces of felt have been inserted into the fleece before felting
resulting in wonderful bobbly scarves

The wonderful felted textures don't always show up

in the photos, here are some close-up shots to give you an idea..

Zoe, my little niece, has a new scarf

made for toddlers, this one is "Holey organic" and hand dyed a Kingfisher blue

and what did Sophie have in her bag

another scarf in her favourite colour

Sophie and Helmut

Seen on the steet in Surry Hills Sophie and Helmut Strohmeyer wearing my scarves. They're a good looking,
interesting couple, well known in the Surry Hills restaurants partly because of their matching haircuts and partly because
they're always out and about.
